My love for math and science led me into the field of engineering. After working several years in the automotive industry, my heart led me into journalism. Many people fantasize about their dreams. I chose to live mine out.
As a news junkie, I thrive on keeping up with current events. I love to tell stories. Some are here on my blog.
I grew up in sunny, warm Rochester, New York. Really, it’s sunny year round. Don’t believe those stories about 3 – 4 feet of lake effect snow paralyzing the city. Hey, temperature is all relative….right?
Should I tell you the good things first? Or the bad? Let’s start with the bad. I love Double Stuf Vanilla Oreo Cookies, Krispy Kreme Donuts and Cinnabon. I’m such a sugar addict. But my meals are always very healthy. It’s after the meal when I’m a bad girl.
Some good things about me, I love long distance bicycling. Give me an 85-degree-sunny day and I can ride a 50, 75 or 100 miles. I do annual charity fund-raising rides for cancer, diabetes and multiple sclerosis, raising thousands of dollars each year.
A few years ago I started bicycling group to introduce the sport of biking to friends. I named my group the “Yellow Jackets,” hence, the name of this blog. Today, my group has grown to 400 members. Physical fitness should be a way of life for everyone who is able. It keeps the heart and lungs healthy and energizes the mind, body and soul.
I’m definitely a people-person. I love people, all kinds of people.
